IPOC / The Organization / History
History The IPOC was founded in Manizales, Colombia in 2008, with the purpose of training young scientists and inventors to develop globally-competitive creative skills to create a culture of sustainable production. The idea and implementation were the brainchild of Dr. Raul Cuero, PhD ( , ), in his efforts to solve socio-economic problems. The IPOC has participated in international science competitions for youth, including “The International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition” (iGEM) 2007-2008-2009) at MIT, Massachusetts, USA, as one of the pioneer members of the competition, as well as other science competitions in the USA. As of 2017, we have developed 16 inventions, seven of which hold patents in the USA and others for companies. Our organization has been presented at important forums like: United Nations, Organization of American States, and United States Chamber of Commerce, among others. The youth we train participate in the development of our inventions. This training begins with international young inventor camps that are designed and run by the IPOC
